JBoss 5.1 Won't Start Using Eclipse Indigo on Windows 8 -

i having trouble running jboss 5.1 through eclipse indigo (and jboss tools) on new windows 8 laptop. server starting process hangs indefinitely @ beginning, displaying these 2 messages: "starting jboss 5.1 runtime server: (0%)" , "performing pre-launch check..." appreciate trouble-shooting tips. thanks!

though i'm on macosx, having trouble well. found out rogue jboss process hanging around in background.

ps aux | grep jboss

note process id

sudo kill -9 <processid>
